Soldier Dismissed Over Row With Lagos Task Force

By NewsAdmin on June 28, 2011

The Nigerian Army has dismissed Lance Corporal Sunday Ayodeji, the officer who had a clash with men of the Lagos State Task Force on BRT at Obanikoro last week. The soldier had resisted attempts by the task force to arrest him and tow his vehicle after he was allegedly intercepted on a BRT lane. The situation caused a major traffic jam in the area and almost led to a braekdown of law and order.
Speaking on the dismissal of the erring officer, the GOC 81 Div of the Nigerian Army, Major General Kenneth Minimah said any officer that deviates from the army’s culture of discipline would face the full wrath of the law. He went further that the officer has been tried and dismissed accordingly and he would be handed over to the Lagos State Government for prosecution under the relevant laws establishing the BRT lanes.
