Ban Ki-Moon Deploys Deputy To Nigeria As Jonathan Condemns Bombing

The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon has reacted to the suicide attack on the United Nations building in Abuja on Friday morning. Ki-Moon condemned the attack and he also confirmed that he would be sending his deputy, Asha Rose Migiro, to Nigeria immediately to meet with officials of the Nigerian government. Migro, a Tanzanian will be accompanied by Gregory Starr, the United Nations’ Security Chief.
Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has condemned the bombing as barbaric, senseless and cowardly. He described it as an assault on global peace and international security. He promised that the culprits would be brought to book.
Sixteen people have been confirmed dead in the attack while the notorious Boko Haram sect has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
A man drove a Honda Accord and rammed into the Reception area of the building before detonating the explosives that claimed lives, wounded people and wrecked a whole section of the building.
