Akunyili vs Ngige: Retrial Begins on Tuesday

Sequel to the verdict of the Court of Appeal, Enugu that the petition filed by Prof. Dora Akunyili to challenge the electoral victory of Dr. Chris Ngige as the Senator representing the Anambra Central Senatorial District should be retried, the Anambra Election Petitions Tribunal led by Justice Onajite Kuejubola has fixed Tuesday,November 22, 2011 for the hearing of Prof. Dora Akunyili’s petition.  Akunyili who flew the flag of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) during the senatorial election challenged the victory of Dr Chris Ngige of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). When her petition was dismissed by the Tribunal, she headed for the Court of Appeal.
