A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday ordered that Senator Ali Ndume who is facing charges of terrorism should be remanded in the custody of the State Security Service (SSS) pending the determination of his bail application on Friday, December 16.
Senator Ndume’s counsel, Ricky Tarfa told the court that his client who had been detained since the 21st of November was denied access to his lawyers and family members.
The prosecuting counsel on the other hand argued that there was nothing wrong with the detention of the Senator.
The judge thereafter ordered that Senator Ndume should be allowed to have adequate medical care and also be allowed access to his lawyers and immediate family members.
He will be in court again on Friday when his bail application will be decided.
