Chief James Akwari Iroha, the veteran actor better known as Gringory is dead. He died on Tuesday at the age of 69. Those who followed the now rested “New Masquerade” which kept many glued to their seats in the 1980s will readily attest to the fact that comedy was something that came naturally to Iroha. He played the role of Gringory in the TV show and the name stuck thereafter.
Many received the news of his demise on Gringory’s fan page on the social network, Facebook. The news was broken via a message posted by the late actor’s first son. It read:
“Not long ago a man we have all come to love, a man that has made us laugh, a friend to all but will always be Dad to my little sister Ugonma, my brothers Chiemela, Uche, Kelechi and me passed on.”
He battled an eye ailment for years before he gave up on Tuesday.
