Residents alleged that thugs loyal to Hon Alao ordered area boys to destroy properties including cars and houses in the area. Street Journal gathered that there was a party in the area on Saturday and the lawmaker was asked to enter through the next street in order to ease traffic flow. An argument however ensued as the men handling the traffic refused the Honourable’s plea to be allowed to park where he wanted. The team’s insistence reportedly irked the lawmaker and he allegedly punched one of them. Street Journal gathered that the man hit the Honourable back almost immediately in a retaliatory move. Though the party was disrupted for a while by the Honourable’s aides who were visibly annoyed by the turn events took, they promised to be back.
The damage caused on their return was heavier than what residents of the area envisaged, not less than 28 vehicles were damaged when the thugs loyal to the Honourable returned to the area.
Alao often referred to as “Alao Seniyan” is said to have many “boys” loyal to him in Lagos Island where he holds sway.
