Deadly Explosion Rocks Kaduna On Easter Day

By NewsAdmin on April 8, 2012

A car bomb explosion has killed about 20 people in Kaduna on Easter Day. The bomb which was loaded into a car was detonated by a suspected suicide bomber near the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) in the Kaduna State capital. Eye witnesses disclosed that the suicide bomber had earlier been turned back by security operatives around the church. He later detonated the bomb at a nearby junction.

The intensity of the explosion was so high that it was said to have ripped the engine of the car and sent metals flying over several metres. At least twenty people including the suicide bomber, commercial motorcyclists, almajiris and other bystanders lost their lives. A lot of other people were also wounded by the blas while some buildings in the vicinity were affected.
