Gbenga Adeyinka’s fans in Ibadan were treated to the best of comedy and music at the Jogor Centre, Liberty Road on April 9 as comedians and musicians all gave good accounts of themselves.
Ali Baba, the King of Comedy was there, Jedi, Gordons, and Koffi too kept the audience cheering for more. Lepacious Bose was at her best while Lafup, who has been given the title “Bobagunwa of Comedy” thrilled the audience with his famous “Internet Alfa” joke.
Omobaba, Peteru and Shairman de Laufta Master too were on stage to crack ribs.
Celebrities that graced the occasion included the wife of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, former Super Eagles star, Mutiu Adepoju and movie stars like Dele Odule and Peju Omobolanle.
Musicians too were not left out of the fun as Weird MC and Kenny St. Best showed real stuff. 9ice gave the audience a wonderful performance performing about six different tracks, his performance charged the atmosphere. It was also evident that the “Akpako” master, Terry G has numerous fans in Ibadan. It was “Free Madness” on stage as he performed. The Skuki crew also performed their irresistible track “Ma yin e ni banger”to the delight of the audience which included their dad, Laolu Ogunniyi.
Eedris Abdulkarim too wowed the audience as he sang “O to jo meta” and “Nigeria Jagajaga”, Tony Tetuila too gave a good account of himself while Capital F.E.M.I did some R&B songs from his album, X Tee too gave the audience a taste of his album, X Tee Rules. In all, 32 entertainers thrilled Ibadan fans and there was no dull moment while the show lasted.
Gbenga Adeyinka also chose to honour Ola Omonitan, aka Ajimajasan one of Ibadan’s foremost comedians of the 1980s during the show. Not only did he announce a cash gift for him, he introduced the old comedian as one of his role models.
