N 21 Billion Fraud: Bukola Saraki, Lai Alabi To Appear In Court This Week

By NewsAdmin on May 13, 2012

Street Journal’s findings have revealed that Senator Bukola Saraki, the former Governor of Kwara State and former Intercontinental Bank MD, Mahmoud Lai Alabi will be arraigned in court before the end of this week.

The two men have been to the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police Force where they answered questions on their alleged roles in the takeover of Intercontinental Plc by Access Bank while the Group Managing Directors of Access were listed by the CBN as debtors of Intercontinental as well as how Saraki got waivers for loans taken by some companies, the ownership of which were traced to him.

Senator Saraki was at a point declared wanted after he failed to appear at the office of the SFU in Lagos. He however surfaced at the Headquarters of the Police Force in Abuja later. He went there in company of about seven Senior Advocates of Nigeria and a number of other lawyers. He was allowed to go home on personal recognition.

He later reported at the SFU office in Lagos where he answered some questions.
