In what seemed to be a well planned suicide attack, two suicide bombers in a sport utility vehicle rammed into a military patrol and detonated explosives which had been packed into the SUV. The Yobe State Commissioner for Police, Patrick Egbuniwe confirmed the incident. He however said the occupants of the vehicle were being chased by the patrol team and detonated the explosives when they had closed in on him.
The explosion is coming two days after the Emir of Fika, a paramount traditional ruler in the state narrowly escaped being killed in a suicide bomb attack.
