The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced that it will soon introduce a N 5,000 note into Nigeria’s currency system. The note will bear the faces of three prominent female Nigerian activists namely Mrs. Margaret Ekpo, Hajiya Gambo Sawaba and Mrs. Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.
It has also been pointed out that N 5, N 10 and N 20 which were hitherto in polymer notes would be changed to coins.
