Many questions are still begging for answers following the discovery of the naked, lifeless body of Wunmi Adebayo, a student of the Tai Solarin University, Ijebu Ode in the early hours of Monday. Information had circulated round the school very early on Monday morning that Wunmi, a 1oo level student in the Department of English Language was shot by armed robbers. Wunmi who was said to be a lively and pleasant person resided in Mobalufon in Ijebu Ode.
While it was being peddled by some of Wunmi’s friends that she was shot by robbers at a beach in Lagos, some of her colleagues in school claimed to have found out that the robbery attack that claimed her life actually took place at her man friend’s house at Golden Estate in Ijebu Ode. It was also alleged that she was shot by the robbers when she refused to allow them rape her.
Presently, female students of the institution are treading with caution and none wants to talk about the issue for fear of being picked up for questioning by the police. Meanwhile, when Street Journal called the Ogun State Police PRO, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi for confirmation as of the time of filing this report, he said he had not been briefed about the incident. There were indications from Ijebu Ode that the matter might not have been reported to the police as the deceased was buried later on Monday; a pointer to the fact that somebody somewhere may be hiding something.
