Though a French court will be ruling on Tuesday over the topless photos of the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Catherine that appeared in an edition of Closer, the legal action has not deterred other magazines from going ahead to publish the pictures that have embarrassed the British monarchy.
Chi, an Italian magazine owned by the country’s former Premier, Silvio Berlusconi published pictures of the princess sunbathing under the headline “Court Scandal: The Queen Is Nude!”. Unlike the French magazine
that had just four pages of the royal couple’s intimate pictures, Chi did a 26-page photo-spread of Kate Middleton.
Chi published pictures of Princess Diana,
Kate’s mother-in-law as she lay, dying in a tunnel in France in 1997. The Royal family has described the pictures as “grotesque” and an invasion of the couple’s privacy.
