Residents of Potiskum, the Yobe State capital again had cause to fear for their lives as loud explosions and gunshots boomed in the town around 6 am on Wednesday. The Islamist sect, Boko Haram is believed to be behind the explosions.
The Yobe State Commissioner of Police disclosed that the area affected has been cordoned off while security agents have commenced a house to house search to fish out the culprits. One of the blasts reportedly hit an area where the NDLEA office, a military base and a bank.
The casualty figure could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
