Nigerian Entertainers Walk Against Domestic Violence!

By NewsAdmin on October 16, 2012

Nigeria’s entertainment industry scored another first on Saturday 13th October, with the “Walk Against Domestic Violence” put together by LWTZE concepts, an initiative of TV personality Yinka ‘Yeancah’Adamu.  The event kicked off at Deuces Lounge on Adetokunbo Ademola street, Victoria island with an enlightenment session which was anchored by Cool FM’s radio personality Do2dtun and Labi Layori of TV Continental with the theme – “Domestic violence: forms, causes and effects on the Nigerian society”.  Talks were delivered by Prof. (Mrs) Mopelola Omoegun and Mr.  Akinteye Akinbode, both of the University of Lagos.

The talk also featured a Question and Answer session while comments from some of the celebrities present at the event were also taken and experiences were shared by a cross section of participants.

The walk which was anchored by the Crime Ambassador, Lamboginny commenced immediately after the talk with a procession from Deuces to the bar beach and back to Deuces with entertainment on the go. Over a thousand participants were thrilled with music by Soundcity’s DJ Shabzzy and electrifying performances and messages against domestic violence by a host of entertainers including Tunde Ednut, Tillaman, Sexy steel, Slim T, Leo’nel Orji, General Pype, Hakym the dream, Obiwon and Capital FEMI.

Men of the Nigeria Police Force and Spartan Strategies were on hand to provide security while traffic was controlled by LASTMA and CDPI.

Also present at this event were ace producer Laylow, Fliptyce, Doris Simeon, Toyin Aimakhu, Lizzy Anjorin, Tosin Bucknor, Fola of Nigeria Info, Students of St. Timothy’s College and Kuramo College also took part in the walk.
