Four members of a committee set up by the Borno State Government to oversee free feeding for students in public schools in the state met their untimely deaths in the hands of gunmen suspected to belong to the Boko Haram sect on Tuesday evening.
The Chairman of the committee, Tijjani Mafe and Modu Kura Gobio, an Accountant as well as two other members of the committee and a driver were shot by gunmen who waylaid the vehicle they were traveling at Logomani village, close to Bama which is known to be a Boko Haram stronghold. after killing the occupants, the assailants made away with the vehicle. The Borno State Commissioner for Education has confirmed the incident. The Police spokesman in the state could not be reached for comments at the time of filing the report.
