Amosun Goes Tough; Locks Out Commissioners For Lateness!

The Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Monday went tough as he locked out late comers at the Governors Office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta. At least three Commissioners were affected by the lockout as well as hundreds of civil servants. The Commissioners were said to include those in the Ministries of Women Affairs and Information.

The Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa and the Head of Service, Modupe Adekunle supervised the locking of the gates of the secretariat at exactly 8.00 am. They were accompanied by policemen, apparently to prevent any breach.

In Ogun State, civil servants are expected to resume at 7.30 am

Though the fate of the latecomers had not been decided as of the time of filing this report, Street Journal found out that names of those who resumed early enough had been compiled by the most senior officers on ground in each of the ministries so that civil servants who had not signed in by 7. 30 would be identified while appropriate action would be taken against them as laid down in the rules and regulations of the civil service.

“The issue of the Commissioners would most likely be addressed by the Governor at the next exco meeting”, a senior official disclosed to Street Journal.
