Senator Wahab Dosunmu, one of the men who fought for the actualization of the June 12, 1993 mandate of late business mogul, Chief Moshood Abiola is dead. Dr Dosunmu was an active member of the National Democratic Coalition which stood up to the military government in the 1990s. He passed on in the United States after a brief illness. He was aged 74.
After the return to democratic rule, Dr Dosunmu, a former Minister for Housing was active on the political field in Lagos State. He contested for the Alliance for Democracy’s Governorship ticket with Senator Bola Tinubu in 1999. He was however elected into the Senate the same year.
Dosunmu left for the Peoples Democratic Party before the end of his 4-year term at the Senate. He was appointed as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Malaysia in 2004, a position he occupied for 3 years.
