The Peoples Democratic Party on Monday rescinded the decision to suspend the Governor of Sokoto State, Dr Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
Street Journal gathered that the move to get the National Working Committee to rescind the decision was facilitated by the PDP Governors’ Forum, led by Chief Godswill Akpabio, the Akwa Ibom State Governor. Akpabio and his colleagues had appealed to the NWC to have a rethink on the issue.
The Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur briefed newsmen about the development after a meeting of the National Working Committee of the Party and the Presidential Committee on the PDP crisis at Legacy House, Abuja.
Wamakko was suspended on June 5 for alleged disrespect to the party’s Chairman. It was also stated that Wamakko refused to honour several invitations to address some issues.
