26-year-old Andy Murray on Sunday put last years Wimbledon loss to Roger Federer behind him as he defeated World’s Number One, Novak Djokovic in three straight sets to win the Wimbledon title. The game which ran for 3 hours 10 minutes ended 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 in favour of Murray who became the first Briton to win at Wimbledon in 77 years. The feat was last achieved by Fred Perry in 1936.
After the game, an emotional Murray said “I understand how much everyone wanted to see the British winner at Wimbledon and I hope everyone enjoyed it. “
