The British High Commission has disclosed that the Briton who was kidnapped after his arrival at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos on Friday has been released. The man was abducted as gunmen attacked the vehicle that conveyed him from the airport. He was freed on Sunday after spending two days in the hands of his abductors.
Street Journal gathered that the release was effected by a combined team of law enforcement agents including men of the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) and operatives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad who stormed an uncompleted two storey building where the kidnappers had their hideout in the Okota area of Isola in Lagos.
It is however unclear if any ransom was paid in securing the Briton’s release.
