. Chairman Promises To Set Up Reconciliation Committee
At a meeting held at the Wadata House, Wuse II office of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abuja on Thursday afternoon, the party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur promised to set up a reconciliation committee to look into the crisis that rocked the Ekiti State chapter of the party recently.
Ayodele Fayose, a former Governor who was suspended by the Ekiti State chapter following the violence that rocked the state secretariat of the party was in Abuja to meet with the Chairman. A number of members from Ekiti State were also in attendance including some former Local Council chairmen. At the meeting, Fayose denied being the mastermind of the violence that left a number of party chieftains injured as armed thugs swooped on the secretariat. Alhaji Tukur distanced himself from the former Governor’s suspension and promised to convene a committee that will look into the matter and settle all the differences between aggrieved members. .
