Gay Rights Activists Attack Federal Govt’s Website!

The official website of the Federal Government of Nigeria, was on Thursday night attacked by a Gay Rights Activist in protest to the country’s anti-homosexuality stand.

The attack on the website, Nigeria.gov.ng took place in the evening and messages urging the President to overrule the laws were displayed on the site until around 11 pm when the administrators regained control of the site. The hackers protested against the 14-year jail term for homosexuals in Nigeria.

The attack came from Paddyhack, who wrote on the site that “nobody should live in fear of being jailed when their action is loving another consenting adult, regardless of gender.”

The President was asked to “veto or renounce the bill” within 72 hours. Issuing a threat after, the hackers stated on the website that “failure to follow our order will unleash a torrent of fury aimed directly at the direction of your administration, starting with some startling but unsurprising evidence of corruption in your ranks.”

The hackers also continued with an assurance as the message continued with “no need to start destroying evidence, I already have it.”

Street Journal gathered that the hacker had already issued a warning that the site would be attacked hours before the action was taken. The spokesman for the Ministry of Information, Joseph Mutuah confirmed the web attack, though he gave no reasons for the inability to prevent it.

This message is for Nigerians whether you are PDP supporters or APC apologist. Christian or Muslim. I think Nigerians need to learn more about Nigeria, most of us don't even know anything about the things that goes on in the running of the affairs of our great country. Let's pause for a minute and think about the way we fight corruption in Nigeria. Last week, The former governor of Jigawa state was arraigned by EFCC alongside his children for receiving N1.35 billion kickback from a government contractor . Few days later, he was flown to Abuja and granted bail on self recognition!. So he is a free man now at least till next 7years, because case no dey finish here till minimum of 7years plus. Now, calculate what tax payers are losing . 1. Stolen N1.35B + EFCC officers salary + Legal fees. Keyamo and Co will collect nothing less than N50m to prosecute any case. At the end of the day, the court will give a verdict that this man is not guilty.( N1.35b fraud then go home on self recognition). So the more you steal the more you will be recognized as VIP in Nigeria. Is this type of anti corruption war making sense at all. More information & enlightenment would go a long way in deriving the required CHANGE that we truly want & clamour for in our society. May God help and give us wisdom to put this country in the right path . Amin. ... See MoreSee Less
