The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikemefuna Okoye on Monday reiterated his command’s commitment to make Ogun state hot for hoodlums or group of miscreants who may want to cause any untold hardship on the good people of the state.
The CP made the disclosure when he visited the house where kidnappers kept the two Chinese nationals, staff of Lee Group of Companies, Ikorodu, Lagos who were kidnapped in Odongunyan area of Ikorodu in Lagos State but were rescued in Shotunbo village near Sagamu in Sagamu Local Government area of Ogun State by a team of policemen attached to the Ogijo divisional headquarters led by the DPO, SP Toyin Afolaogun after a gun duel with the hoodlums.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed that the Chinese nationals, Song Jiang She and Zhang Wen Xue, both males were rescued unhurt after the police had engaged the men in a shootout. One of the kidnappers who was fatally injured got arrested while others fled with bullet wounds.
The Commissioner of Police ordered the kidnappers’ den to be cordoned off and placed under surveillance for further investigation. Adejobi pointed that the move was also to prevent the hoodlums from using the remote building that is almost three kilometres off the Sagamu-Ikorodu Road for similar operations.
Three locally made pistols with some live cartridges, masks, some handsets, dangerous weapons and a BMW with Registration Number CK 737 LSD, which was the kidnappers’ operational vehicle were recovered.
