A police station in Kaura, a town in the southern part of Kaduna State came under attack from suspected terrorists in the early hours of Wednesday.
A yet to be ascertained number of policemen were injured in the attack.
Southern Kaduna has been a hotbed of well coordinated terror attacks. In May, at least 12 people were shot dead while many houses were set ablaze by the gunmen who stormed Zangan in Kaura Local Government Area. Residents of that part of Kaduna State have disclosed that in the last two years, hundreds of people have been lost to terror attacks.
During the last Easter celebrations too, not less than 20 people were killed by terrorists in the hilly villages of Mafang and Zilang in the same Kaura Local Government. Street Journal’s findings have revealed that such attacks have almost become commonplace in Kaura and its environs. The attack is coming on the heels of the Federal Government’s claim that negotiations are ongoing with the Boko Haram sect. The sect’s leader has however denied any such development.
