Highway Robbery: Ogun Police Recover Bodies of Fleeing Robbers

The Ogun State Police Command has recovered the corpses of two out of the three armed robbers who fled the robbery scene where the policemen attached to Odogbolu division of the state engaged them in a fierce gun battle along Omu/Epe road in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State last Wednesday.

The policemen who went in search of the fleeing robbers with some members of the Vigilante Service of Ogun State recovered the corpses in the near by bush on Thursday barely a day after the gun duel.
The PRO of the Ogun State Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi told Street Journal that the corpses have since been deposited at a mortuary in Ijebu Ode.

He stressed that the command has put machinery in place to harness all available resources on ground in the state to provide adequate security of lives and property for the general populace.
According to a statement signed by the PPRO, “the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikemefuna Okoye appreciates the people of the state particularly the members of the Vigilante Service of Ogun state for their support in achieving the effective policing of Ogun State”.
He also stated that the command will always work with other security agencies in Ogun State, in all ramifications, to get the state rid of hoodlums.
