The Taraba State House of Assembly on Thursday stopped Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai from resuming duties as the chief executive of the state. Suntai had on Wednesday dissolved the state cabinet and appointed a new Secretary to the State Government and Chief of Staff. Both were sworn in at a brief ceremony at the Government House on Wednesday.
Members of the House of Assembly however took it upon themselves to visit the Governor sequel to the letter he sent to the Speaker, notifying the House of his readiness to resume duty.
While Speaking with newsmen on Thursday, the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Honourable Haruna Tsokwa said after visiting the Governor, members of the House are of the belief that he is not yet fit and as such should return to the United States to continue with his treatment.
