Mubarak Regains Freedom after 2 Years in Detention!

Following the appeal he filed against his detention, former Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak has been released from prison.

The 85-year-old former president was flown out of the Tora Prison in Cairo in a helicopter which took him to a military hospital in the Egyptian capital. He is expected to be placed under house arrest as he still faces charges bordering on corruption and the killing of protesters during the uprising that led to the downfall of his government.

While protests and calls of the release and re-instatement of ousted President Morsi continues, there are fears that the military regime is gradually undoing the changes that came about as a result of the uprising that brought an end to Mubarak’s rule of over two decades.
