The Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has declared ASP Seimeikumo Debewari, ASP the aide de camp (ADC) to Governor Rotimi Amaechi, a deserter from the force.
The declaration was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in charge of Administration, Mr. Augustine Sanomi.
The ACP Admin stated that ASP Debewari ignored all lawful directives to see the Rivers State Commissioner of Police (CP), and the Inspector-General of Police (IG), and has not been seen either at the Rivers State Command or at the Police headquarters since July 10, 2013.
It was also contained in the statement that his whereabouts was unknown to the Nigerian Police Force and as such, Debewari forthwith ceases to be the Governor’s ADC.
“By the powers conferred on me by section 398  of the Police Act and regulation cap 359, law of the federation of Nigeria 1990, the officer is hereby declared a deserter from Nigeria Police Force subject to the approval of the Inspector General of Police,” the statement read.
The Governor’s ADC was one of those implicated in the fight that occurred at the Rivers State House of Assembly on July 9, 2013.
