As part of efforts to solve the political logjam on who governs Taraba State, some members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Senate went to Jalingo, the state’s capital on Tuesday in order to assess state of health of Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai.
After a closed door meeting with the Governor at his official residence, Senator Hope Uzodinma who led the team urged the ailing Governor to proceed for further medical treatment. He said the governor would proceed for further treatment while the Acting Governor, Garba Umar, would continue in office.
The Senator added that Umar would consult Governor Suntai on sensitive state issues.
Governor Suntai had been away for 10 months after sustaining injuries in a plane crash that left him hospitalised.
Days ago, members of the state House of Assembly stated that he was unfit to rule and recommended that he should go for further treatment.
