. Erelu Obada, Olugbenga Ashiru, others axed
President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday carried out a major shake up which affected 9 members of the Federal Executive Council. Six senior Ministers and three junior Ministers were affected by the reshuffle.
The shake up was announced at the weekly executive meeting. Those sacked include the Minister for Education, Professor Ruqquayat Rufa’I, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru, Minister of National Planning, Samsudeen Usman; Ama Pepple; the Minister Housing and Urban Development, Hajia Hadiza Mailafia; Minister of Environment and the Minister of Science and Technology, Prof. Bassey Ewa.
The junior Ministers affected are Erelu Olusola Obada, Minister of State for Defence and her colleagues in the Ministry of Agriculture and Power, Alhaji Bukar Tijani; and Alhaja Zainab Kuchi.
The Minister of Youth Development, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir was sacked earlier.
The development has been confirmed by Dr Reuben Abati, the President’s Special Adviser on Media.
