Dr Amos Adamu, former FIFA and CAF executive is free to return to activities involving football. Adamu was banned for three years by the world football governing body, FIFA after being found guilty of breaching the body’s bribery rules. Apart from the three-year ban imposed on him, he was also fined 10,000 Swiss Francs. Adamu and some other executives were exposed by undercover journalists after they asked for cash in return for World Cup votes.
FIFA’s ethics committee banned Adamu on the 18th November, 2010. Also banned with him was Reynald Temarii, the then President of Oceania’s football federation who hailed from Tahiti. He was handed a one year ban. It however remains unclear wheter Dr Adamu will return or not. He could not immediately be reached for comments on his decision.
