President Goodluck Jonathan has instituted a 3-man committee to probe the Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, over the purchase of two bullet-proof BMW cars at the cost of $1.6m (about N255m). The vehicles were bought by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority on the Minister’s request.
Members of the committee are former Head of Service of the Federation, Alhaji Sali Bello who is the Chairman; Col. Sambo Dasuki (Rtd.), the National Security Adviser; and Air Vice Marshal Iruenebere (Rtd.) .
Dr Reuben Abati, the President’s Media Adviser disclosed that the committee has been saddled with a number responsibilities which include ascertaining whether the procurement of the vehicles followed due process, finding out the purpose of procurement and also to inquire into any other incidental matter.
