While results of Saturday’s Governorship election in Anambra State are trickling in, elections have been rescheduled in 65 wards in Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area. The Independent National Electoral Commission announced that the elections have been fixed for Sunday. Voting could not hold in the wards as a result of the late arrival of materials and other logistics challenges. The rescheduling of the election was announced by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, (REC) Prof Chukwuemeka Onukogu made the announcement via a statement issued in Awka on Saturday. It was contained in the statement, signed by the Public Relations Officer Frank Egbo that the rescheduling was due to “challenges of logistics” in the areas. While the Commission also stated that inconveniences that might come with the rescheduling are highly regretted. According to the statement, the election will hold between 8am and 12.30pm.
