The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has been commended for his dedication and commitment to duties as the PPRO by an International Media Outfit, Security Watch Africa in far away Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa.
Adejobi who holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution was awarded the Best Police PRO in Nigeria by the firm at Indaba Hotels and Conference Centre, Fourways, Johannesburg, South Africa on 8th Nov 2013.
The ceremony was witnessed by many security experts from all over African continent with more than 20 Nigeria Police Officers receiving various awards from the media outfit.
Other awardees included the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Chris Olakpe, his Lagos State counterpart, CP Manko, CP Ikechukwu Aduba, Commissioner of Police, Delta State and Commissioner of police Niger State.
Ghana’s Chief of Naval Staff was awarded the Naval Officer of the year while the South African Police was commended for its good service delivery.
Also present at the event were Professor Doraval Govender and Dr Marcel Vander Watt both of Criminology and Security Science, University of South Africa and Professor Johan Burger of Department of Police Practice , University of South Africa.
The Chief Executive Officer of the media firm, Mr Patrick Agbamu stated that the awards were based on merit and thorough assessment of the recipients who had worked diligently in their various capacities and the ceremony was to mark the firm’s 10th anniversary of Awards and Lectures so far.
He commended the Nigeria Police Force and Government of the Republic of South Africa for their supports towards the success of the Event; and promised to continue in encouraging any outstanding officers or agencies that are contributing towards security of lives and property and promotion of peace in Africa.
