Shake Up in Nigerian Police: 5 AIGs Redeployed!

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, on Friday announced the redeployment of 5 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police while two new Commissioners of Police were also named. 

This was made known via a statement signed by CSP Frank Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer in Abuja on Friday. The affected AIGs include Ballah Nassarawa, who is to take charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, AIG David Omojola who takes over as the AIG in charge of Zone 11, Osogbo, AIG Tambari Mohammed who takes over the affairs of Zone 1, Kano as well as AIG Mohammed Gana who moves to Zone 12, Bauchi and AIG Edgar Nanakumo who takes over the Animal Branch of the Nigeria Police Force.

New CPs, Usman Gwary and Saidu Madaki were named as the ones to take over in Anambra and Kogi States respectively.

According to the Force PRO, the redeployment was in line with the NPF’s efforts at building a people-friendly police which will bring about effective and efficient service delivery. He also stated that the postings take immediate effect.
