The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye, on Thursday put his officers and men on their toes in preparation for the yuletide season in the state. The CP directed men of the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force to work hard and make sure that no ugly incident occurs in their respective places.
CP Okoye issued the directive while he was addressing officers at the November Mess Gathering at the Police Officers’ Mess Ibara, GRA Abeokuta Ogun State.
Those present at the security meeting included the management team of the command, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of departments.
The CP warned them against incivility to the public, corrupt practices and unethical conducts. The Director Code of the Conduct Bureau, Ogun State, Mr Oluwasegun Rabiu was on hand to lecture the officers on what is expected of them. Rabiu was at the meeting on the CP’s invitation.
The Commissioner of Police also ordered officers to display their telephone numbers, relevant phone numbers and distress call numbers at the main entrances, charge rooms, investigation rooms and strategic places at their formations for transparency and accountability; and threatened to query any officer who fails to comply with his directives.
In the course of the meeting, CP Okoye prayed for peace to reign in Ogun State and directed the Police Chief Imam and Chaplain to offer prayers for a hitch free yuletide.
