Emotions gave way in Akure as the Ondo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Deji Falae was buried in Akure. Falae, a son of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae met his untimely death in the air crash that occurred on October 3. The Embraer EMB-120 that crashed in Lagos also bore the remains of the late Governor Olusegun Agagu. Falae and 14 others died in the incident.
Those in attendance included Falae’s widow and children, the Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, his wife, Kemi, the Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Dare Emiola among others.
Falae will be remembered as a man of modesty and simplicity. Until his death, he wass said to be the only Commissioner who did not own a house in the state.
