The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning declared the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Willie Obiano as the winner of the just concluded governorship election in Anambra State.
The final result as announced on Sunday showed that Obiano had a total of 180, 178 votes with Tony Nwoye of the PDP coming second with 97,700 votes. Senator Chris Ngige of the APC came third with 95,963 votes while Ifeanyi Ubah of the Labour Party was at the rear with a total of 37,495 votes.
The results were announced after the supplementary election which was boycotted by the APC and Labour Party whose agents were conspicuously absent from all polling centres where the supplementary election was held.
The supplementary election also witnessed a low turnout of voters.
