Hunter, 71, Arrested for Raping Thirsty 7-Year-Old Schoolgirl!

Alhaji Ganiyu Kolawole, a 71-year-old hunter who resides in Oba Ile, Akure is presently in trouble with the law. Kolawole whose neighbours have alleged to be a specialist in raping children, was apprehended on Wednesday by officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) after he was accused of raping a 7-year-old pupil.

The PRO of the Ondo State command of the NSCDC, Kayode Balogun disclosed that the incident happened on Tuesday, December 3 at Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government Area, when the pupil was returning from school.

The victim, a Primary one pupil of a public primary school in Akure whose name was given as Taye told NSCDC officers that she was returning from school and had wanted to drink water from a well when Alhaji Kolawole carried her into his room and had carnal knowledge of her.

While narrating her ordeal, she said Alhaji Kolawole carried her into his house, covered her mouth, pushed her on the bed and then raped her. The suspect’s house was found to be close to the well the girl wanted to drink from.

According to the girl, the septuagenarian cleaned her up with a cloth after the rape as she was bleeding.

When he was arrested however, Alhaji Ganiyu Kolawole denied raping the girl. He told officers of theNSCDC that the girl approached him to buy biscuit for her. He said he bought her the biscuit and did not do anything to her.

The NSCDC PRO, Kayode Balogun revealed that when the victim was taken to the General hospital, it was confirmed that she had actually been raped.

Balogun also made it known that from investigation “the inhabitants of the area testified that the man (Alhaji Kolawole) is fond of raping children and has been jailed before for raping a particular girl in that area.”

Balogun said though investigations are still going on, Kolawole may be charged to court soon.
