Jumoke Akinjide’s Husband Dumps PDP For APC

As the 2015 elections draw near, political changes continue to occur and structures are being altered on a daily basis. Presently, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide and her husband are in different political camps following the defection of 37 former Peoples Democratic Party members to the All Progressives Congress. The Minister’s husband, Honourable Ahman Pategi, the member representing the Edu/ Moro/ Pategi Federal Constituency of Kwara State’s resolve to join the APC has also affected calculations ahead of the presidential elections as well as the Oyo State Governorship election. Oyo State is presently being ruled by the APC and as a Minister, Akinjide is one of those counted on to deliver votes to her party. She is also believed to be eyeing the governorship position.
In some quarters, it is also believed that Hon Pategi’s move may cost Oloye Akinjide her ministerial position.
Meanwhile Akinjide, daughter of Nigeria’s Second Republic Minister of Justice, Chief Richard Akinjide has vowed to stick with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and President Goodluck Jonathan, despite her husband’s defection to the All Progressives Congress.
