2 Days After Gun Battle: Ogun Police Arrest Injured Armed Robbers in Lagos Hospital!

Barely 48 hours after a gun battle between the police and armed robbers on Thursday, the Anti Crime Patrol Team attached to Ogijo Divisional Headquarters led by the Divisional Police Officer,Superintendent of Police Toyin Afolaogun has arrested two of the fleeing injured armed robbers In Lagos.


The spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi who confirmed the arrest of the robbers told Street Journal that ggressive investigation instituted by the Commissioner of Police CP Ikemefuna Okoye into the incident that occurred at Ogijo in  Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State led to the discovery and  arrest of these suspects,who were on danger list, on Saturday around 7am  while receiving treatment in a Lagos Hospital.

Adejobi stated that the armed robbers  had engaged the police in a gun duel on Thursday in Ogijo  and this  left one of the robbers dead after  the battle; while the hoodlums took away a police rifle from an injured  police corporal. He also stated that the firearm was immediately recovered with additional 3 locally made pistols and other offencive weapons  by the same Divisional Police Officer Ogijo Division  Toyin Afolaogun with the help of members of the public in his jurisdiction.


The police spokesman pointed out that the arrested suspects, Oladeji Sherif and Akinbami Owode, both in their 20s, are still receiving treatment in the  hospital and will be taken to the state CID Eleweran Abeokuta for further investigation and will soon appear in court.


The Ogun State Commissioner of Police vowed to maintain the good tempo of modern and effective policing of the Gateway State.

He also assured the public that all the arrested armed robbers and hoodlums in Ogun state will face the full wrath of the law as no case will be left unconcluded or swept under the carpet in  his command.
