Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect, on Tuesday swooped on the Federal Government College, Yadi-Buni in Yobe State killing about 30 students.
Street Journal gathered that the attack took place in the early hours. The Police Commissioner, Sanusi Rufai who confirmed the attack disclosed that some of the students “were burnt to ashes”.
The Tuesday attack followed a similar pattern as the vicious attack on the College of Agriculture in the same state in September 2013 in which students were shot in their sleep in the hostel blocks. The attackers later set school buildings ablaze.
Yobe is one of the three states in which President Jonathan declared a state of emergency in order to address the security situation and curtail the activities of terrorists. The attack on the FGC came only a few hours after the President slammed the Governor of Borno State over his comments on the attacks in his state. TThe President also assured in Monday’s Media Chat that the country would get over acts of terror
