The Code of Conduct tribunal has issued summons to 13 public officers in Gombe State. Street Journal gathered that the trial of the officers will hold in March.
The development was made known at the headquarters of the tribunal in Abuja on Monday by Abdulmalik Shaibu, the Legal Services Director of the Tribunal. According to him, the officers affected by the summons issued by the Tribunal’s chairman, Justice Danladi Yakubu Umar include serving chairmen and councillors of some local government areas in Gombe State, staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria and some staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.
The affected officers have allegedly breached the Code of Conduct for Public Officers as enshrined in the 1999 Amended Constitution of Nigeria and the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act.
According to Shaibu, the trial has been slated for the 20th and 26th of March 2014 at the tribunal’s court room in Abuja and would be presided over by the Chairman of the tribunal Danladi Yakubu Umar (Justice) along with William Agwadza Atedze and Robert Ewa Odu (Justices), who are also members of the tribunal.
