The Department of State Security (DSS) on Thursday interrogated the leader of the defunct Niger Delta Volunteers Force, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo.
The arrest came less than 24 hours after a group, Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, called on security agents to arrest and caution the former militant for repeatedly making inciting comments.
Asari was on Thursday summoned to the headquarters of the DSS headquarters in Abuja, where he is being interrogated for comments believed to be capable of breaching the peace of the country.
DSS, Marilyn Ogar could not be reached for comments as of the time of filing the report. was not available for comments. Calls to her phone were unanswered,
Asari’s younger brother, Rex Asari, who also doubles as his personal assistant on media, stated that his brother was with the DSS and is currently being interrogated.
Among the statements credited to Asari was that Nigeria would be rendered ungovernable if President Goodluck Jonathan does not win the 2015 elections.
