President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed General Jones Oladehinde Arogbofa as his Chief of Staff.
The development was made known by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati on Tuesday afternoon. Abati also pointed out that the appointment “is with immediate effect”.
Arogbofa, a native of Oka Akoko in Ondo State replaces Chief Mike Oghiadomhe who was relieved of the position recently.
The new Chief of Staff to the President retired as a Brigadier General and he holds a Bachelor’s and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama in the United States. He also bagged a Masters in Military Arts and Science (USA Command and General Staff College).
He was the Chief Commanding officer of ECOMOG (the military arm of the ECOWAS Monitoring Group). He also served as the Assistant Director of Finance of the Nigerian Army.
