The Commissioner of Police Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye on Monday decorated almost 200 newly promoted officers of the command in his Eleweran.
The decoration ceremony was witnessed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Department of Finance and Admin, DCP Halidu Gwandu, Deputy Commissioner of Police in Department of Operations DCP Akpoebi Agberebe, Assistant Commissioners of Police in Admin and Operations, Chief Superintendent of Police in Admin and Finance, CSP Rose Chollom, and Heads of departments.
Those who benefited from the Inspector General of Police’s welfare package of promotion include CSP Muideen Adisa, Officer in charge, Legal Department, woman CSP Ogbonna Modupe, CSP Sittu Abioye, OC Quick Response Squad, SP Jamiu Salabiu second-in-command, Police Mobile Force Abeokuta, SP Katibi Biliaminu and second-in-command Quick Response Squad.
Two inspectors in the Police Public Relations Office Eleweran, Abeokuta were not left out of the IGP’s promotion. Mr Theophilus Nwakali and Mrs Oshinu Abosede were promoted Assistant Superintendents of Police.
While addressing the newly promoted officers, the Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, felicitated with them and advised them to be more efficient as the Police Force expects much from them with their new promotions. “Promotion connotes more responsibilities and dedications to duty, so you must not disappoint the Inspector General of Police who considered you fit and assist in implementing the principles of the IGPs to reform the Nigeria Police Force”, he said.
Ikemefuna Okoye also appreciated the IGP, MD Abubakar for promoting deserving officers all over the country and his commitment to having robust welfare package for the entire workforce of the police.
