Security Mounts in Ekiti ahead of PDP Primaries

Security  in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital is being built up to protect the state from any possible break down of law and order during and after the Peoples Democratic Party primaries coming up in the state on Saturday.
The primaries which would present the party flag-bearer for the guber poll is a wide contest within the top hierarchy of the ruling party.
Some of the candidates vying for the guber tickets are the former Governor Ayodele Fayose, his former Deputy, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, ex-Police Affairs Minister, Caleb Olubolade, Senator, Gbenga Aluko, Ritetime boss, Otunba Peter Obafemi, Bola Oloyede, Honourable Wale Aribisala, Prince Dayo Adeyeye and a few others.
The need to beef up security in Ado Ekiti was said to have stemmed up from the popularity of the candidates and the initial crisis in the party.
Ekiti State had in the past witnessed series of violence which came as results of political fallouts and there is need to protect the people and properties, revealed a police source.
It was said that the combination of the Nigerian police and Civil Defence Corps have been instructed to be on the alert to provide necessary protection for the people.
The candidate that would emerge as winner from Saturday’s primary would be the PDP contestant against the incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi who is seeking re-election.
