While the nation continues to count its losses from recent attacks by the deadly Boko Haram terrorist organisation, the sect struck again in Mafa, located in Mafa Local Government Area of the state. Street Journal gathered that the operation was similar to that of Mainok in the sense that more than 70 percent of the structures there were destroyed in the attack.
The attack which took place early on Monday claimed no fewer than 33 lives.
While confirming the incident on Focus on Africa, a BBC programme, Senator Khalifa Ahmed Zanna said when the terrorists came, the military personnel around ran away. A statement that was confirmed by witnesses who said when the military personnel saw the terrorists approaching in Hilux vans, they abandoned their positions and fled.
On Saturday. the group had detonated two explosives which killed about 50 people in Maiduguri and hours after, they moved on to Mainok where the whole village was burnt down.
