Confab Delegate, Emir of Gombe Dies at 76

One of the delegates to the National Conference and Emir of Gombe, Shehu Abubakar, has died.
The traditional ruler died on Tuesday evening, at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Fulham Road, London, the United Kingdom, where he was undergoing treatment for cancer.He was 76.
Alhaji Abubakar’s death was confirmed by the Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Abubakar Bage.
Until his death, the late monarch who ascended the throne 30 years ago was the chairman of the Gombe State Council of Traditional Rulers.
He attended the famous Barewa College, Zaria. He got to the peak of his career as a civil servant, rising to the rank of a Permanent Secretary.
At least two delegates have passed on since the National Conference started.
